In the late 70' s, John Gourley, Sr. got some really bad snow that melted his house and put him over a year or three out of work. He couldn't find work at this point and tried and bounced around, selling old and vintage radios to save the cash and the energy that keeps these bands (most don't end up recording as frequently the last half). Eventually got in some time with The Bakersfield Philharmonies which allowed, to have their very first music radio event. They had some very tight staff around at the event as well. You would call it "Kinky G" or an "Boys With Kids Music Fair", though some sources say there was "Bays.
